Texas Longhorns vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

Up until 2 hours before kickoff, I was totally convinced that the Longhorns would run all over the Buckeyes. Then my friend (a Longhorns fan by the way) started putting doubts in my mind. I swear it’s bad karma. Now OSU is winning 6-3. Lame!

I read this earlier and thought it was some great analysis:

McCoy has completed 77.6 percent of his passes for 3,445 yards and 32 touchdowns, and he has thrown seven interceptions. McCoy, a junior who plans to return for his senior year, has also rushed for 576 yards and 10 more scores.

The Buckeyes allow 13 points per game, seventh in the nation. But last year they brought the nation’s top-rated defense - conceding 10.7 points per game - into the BCS title game and watched LSU romp to a 38-24 victory. Read more here.

Ok, the game is still early. Plenty of time for Texas to come back and kick some ass still!

Is USC the best team in the nation?

Another reason to add the playoff system to college football.  The way USC played and looked today, I seriously doubt that anyone can beat them.  It doesn’t matter if you are Tim Tebow or Superman, that Trojans defense is just way too crazy.  Yes, I know Oklahoma and Florida are both great teams, but their defense will just eat you up.  Rey Maualuga is a beast!

Too bad we will never know.

Please stop this Pac10 Big Ten Thing

I’ve been watching the bowl games since like 9AM.  Well, minus the couple hours that I was watching the Winter Classic, which was awseome by the way (more thoughts on that later).  I came to a conclusion though:  They need to just give up on the whole Pac10-Big Ten thing.  It’s not even fun to watch anymore.  All these sports people hyped up the Rose Bowl for like the last month, and Penn State basically lost the game before we even got to half time.  What a joke.
